Cortes Island

Cortes Island

About Cortes

Situated at the entrance of Desolation Sound, holding some of the Discovery Island’s most spectacular and abundant landscapes, Cortes Island offers visitors breath-taking beaches, lakes, and forests that make it an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The island’s remoteness, moderate climate, and rich west coast culture bring a special vibe that allows one to truly get away and settle into both the peaceful and wild energies that abound.

Getting to Cortes

Be sure when coming across from Campbell River to ask for a thru ferry ticket at the BC ferries ticket booth. Ferry schedules can be found at bcferries.ca

Andrea & Eliot

Walking distance to the co-op in a serene area with deer and owls. Used it as a mini writing retreat and cooked all the time, two things we were really looking forward to. The space was super clean and fun to be in. The place is split so you sleep upstairs where the bathroom is and then walk outside and downstairs for the kitchen and living area. Romina was really welcoming and we appreciated it was dog friendly!
